Once you have your message composed and any additional settings selected, click the Review button on the bottom right of the screen.
Once you have reviewed the message, hit send on the bottom of the screen.
Broadcast messages will appear in the Broadcast Messages List as shown below. To create a new Broadcast Message, select the + New button on the top right of the screen.
Fill in the subject and body of your message. Additionally, you may check the box to send the message as a push notification, Schedule a Delivery Time or Restrict Participants.
Restricting Recipients can be done by groups, participant types and scheduled sessions.
When selecting multiple Groups, your message will be more inclusive.
- If Group 1 and Group 2 are selected: People in either Group 1 OR Group 2 will receive the message.
- If Session 1 and Session 2 are selected, people who have either Sesssion 1 OR Session 2 on their schedule will receive the message.
- If Participant Type 1 and Participant Type 2 are selected, people who have either Participant Type 1 OR Participant Type 2 designated will receive the message.
To send a message to a subset of people who meet certain criteria, you can combine restriction types.
You want to send a message to Sales and Marketing users (Participant Types) who also have the Group Term of Midwest or Southeast assigned. Selecting the corresponding participant types and groups from your restrictions would give you the desired cross section of Sales or Marketing users that are in the Midwest or Southeast.
Once you have your message composed and any additional settings selected, click the Review Draft button on the bottom right of the screen.
Review the Draft message and note any settings you have selected. Saved Drafts are never sent out to users. For messages to be sent, you must select the Schedule Delivery button for messages with a delivery time set, or Send Message for all other messages.
*This message is too restrictive and there will be no recipients.
Review Recipients when you are looking over your draft. You should see a list of participants who will be receiving this message based on the restrictions you have set.
